"HRSA GECs: Geriatric Education and Neighborhood Planning for Bio-Terrorism and Emergency Preparedness"

This interactive, half-day, pre-conference intensive on emergency preparedness will focus on culturally appropriate education and services for vulnerable, culturally, and linguistically chal-lenged older adults in rural and urban neighborhoods. Presentations from six Geriatric Educatio n Centers will emphasize information about health and mental issues; emer-gency plans for the individual, family, community, and multidisciplinary geriatric training across the continuum of care. Interactive activities will include skill building through games, approaches to building/supporting hope, and case scenarios. The session is partially supported by the Allied, Geriatrics, and Rural Health Branch, Bureau of Health Profession, HRSA, USDHHS.
